The short version

A restaurant website runs between €700 and €1000. For a holiday rental business, between €1000 and €2000. A landing page for a barber or a salon is €400, and a booking system built from scratch is €700, plus €30 to €50 a month in tools. An online shop starts at €700. One payment in every case. Hosting costs nothing, and the domain is registered in the client's name.

If you have ever asked around for website quotes, you very likely noticed something: almost nobody answers with straight numbers. Either you get a form to fill in and a reply that never arrives, or you get a price range so wide it is useless for planning anything.

Part of that is understandable: every project has its own specifics. But the other part is simple: a written price can be compared, and some people would rather avoid that comparison.

At Solve & Promote we prefer to put our cards on the table. We write our prices down, explain exactly where they come from, and show you what you will pay today and in three years' time. If you finish reading this and decide we are not the right fit for your business, at least we have saved us both some time.

Our prices, plainly

We work out of Olhao and build websites for restaurants, holiday rentals, barbers, salons, clinics and every kind of local and regional business.

Our model is built on a single payment. We charge no compulsory maintenance retainer, and what you pay once stays paid. The only recurring costs that exist are the yearly domain renewal (mandatory for any website on the internet) and, in specific cases such as online shops or booking systems, the third-party tools those need (such as the Shopify subscription or the SMS and database services). We add no margin and receive nothing on those amounts: they are operating costs you pay directly to the companies that provide the tools.

Price does not depend on the number of pages

This is almost always the first surprise for anyone asking for a quote. It feels natural to assume a ten-page site should cost twice a five-page one. But web development does not work like buying by the metre.

A simple contacts page takes 20 minutes to put together. A home page with custom animations tied to the scroll, where the elements position themselves as the visitor moves through it on a phone, can take two whole days to tune. Both count as «one page», but the technical effort is not comparable.

What determines the value of a website is four main factors:

  • Design and visual identity. Using a pre-made template is one thing; creating a layout with its own identity, hand-picked typography and visual coherence from start to finish is another.
  • Animation and speed. Giving a site movement without compromising how fast it is on a phone takes constant testing and tuning.
  • Functionality. A digital menu as a PDF is simple; a booking system with a database, automatic alerts and a management panel is a complete piece of software.
  • Content and detail. The volume of photographs to optimise, the copy to write and the number of languages.

And if you are still deciding between building the site yourself and having it built, we compared the four paths, Wix, artificial intelligence, WordPress and custom-built, with the sums done over three years, in building a website in 2026: Wix, AI, WordPress or custom.

What each type of business costs

1. Restaurant website (€700 to €1000)

A restaurant needs fewer flourishes and more effectiveness. The customer deciding where to have lunch or dinner wants photographs that open the appetite, the menu two taps away on a phone, the opening hours, and a clear button to call or book. If the site takes more than 3 seconds to load on the phone of somebody standing in the street hungry, that person goes to the restaurant next door. Speed here is part of the product.

2. Holiday rental (€1000 to €2000)

It is the most robust project we build because it involves the most pieces: a dedicated page for each property, optimised photo galleries, amenity listings, translations (half the guests are foreign) and a direct booking system. The big advantage is that the site stops being an expense and becomes an investment that saves thousands of euros in commission to platforms like Airbnb or Booking.

3. Barber or salon (€400 to €700)

Landing page (€400): a single, direct page with the services, the price list, photos of the place and a button to call or open WhatsApp. If your bookings already work fine by message, there is no point complicating things.

Booking system built from scratch (€700 + €30 to €50/month in tools): the customer picks the professional, sees the free slots in real time, books and gets automatic reminders. The €30 to €50 a month goes directly to the messaging and database tools, with no margin for us.

What you keep paying after launch

This is the section most quotes leave out, and the one that makes all the difference a few months in.

The domain (€15 to €25 a year): it is the site's address (yourbusinessname.pt). It is paid yearly, directly to the registrar. The domain is always registered in the client's name.

The hosting (€0 in our model vs. €5 to €20/month in the traditional one): we build static, optimised sites, which lets us host them on platforms like Netlify at no hosting cost to you. Traditional WordPress sites, by contrast, need paid servers every month to process files and databases on every visit.

Maintenance: we include the first 3 months of assistance for small adjustments. After that, you only pay if you ask for changes. If in a whole year you need nothing changed, you pay €0.

The 3-year sum: the real comparison

To see the financial impact of each model, nothing beats the numbers side by side. Take the example of a restaurant investing €850 in a base website.

On the right is the model with a compulsory monthly fee (very common on the market), built on WordPress, with paid hosting and a monthly maintenance charge that usually runs between €20 and €50/month. This same sum, done for Wix, artificial intelligence and WordPress as well, is in the article on the four ways to build a website in 2026.

ItemSolve & Promote modelTraditional model with monthly fee
Initial cost of the site€850€850
Website hosting€0 (Netlify)€360 (€10/month × 36 months)
Compulsory maintenance€0€720 (€20/month × 36 months)
Domain (3 years)~€60 (€20/year × 3)~€60 (€20/year × 3)
One-off changes€120 to €300 (1 change every 6 months, at €20 to €50 each)Included in the monthly fee
3-year total€1030 to €1210~€1990 (or over €3000 if the fee is €50/month)

On a restaurant or barber website, the changes needed over a year usually come down to updating a price on the menu, swapping two photos or changing the summer opening hours. Paying a fixed €20 to €50 every month to make two or three changes a year rarely pays off for a small business.

Transparency: ownership and timelines

Who owns the site? You do, no asterisks. The domain is registered with your details and the code is handed over to you. If one day you want to change agency or run everything yourself, you do not have to ask permission or pay exit fees.

How long does it take? On average, 2 to 4 weeks, counted from the moment we have the photographs and the information we need.

6 questions to ask before signing any quote

Before signing a contract for your website, with us or with any other agency, ask these six questions:

  1. How much will I pay per month once the site is live?
  2. Whose name is the domain registered in?
  3. If I want to change agency, is the site still mine?
  4. What happens if the site has a technical problem three months from now?
  5. Are copywriting and image optimisation included?
  6. What technology will the site be built on, and what fixed costs does that choice bring me?

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay every month?

No. Our websites are a one-time payment. The only recurring costs are the domain (€15 to €25/year) and third-party tools if you opt for a Shopify shop or an automatic booking system.

Do you build websites outside the Algarve?

Yes. Although we are based in Olhao and work with many local businesses in the region, the whole process of meetings, design approval and content gathering happens remotely, and works smoothly anywhere in the country.
